Vellum Ledger with Tackets
As in historical 16th Century ledger binding, this limp book cover is attached to the book block with vellum tackets and optional lacing through overbands on the outside covers. Vellum - or parchment - was a common covering material of that time. The vellum for this workshop is tanned and dyed locally in upstate New York by Jesse Meyer of Pergamena. Bring a $25 material fee with you to class.
